Welcome to Psychedelic Healing Center of Colorado

William “Sandy” Pryor, MA, LPC

A native of Washington D.C., Sandy received his Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, with a special emphasis in Music Therapy. He received certification as a Gestalt therapist from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. He has received training in EMDR, (an effective technique for resolving trauma), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, and Experiential Play Therapy. He received his Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy training from The Psychedelic Research and Training Institute and Numinous Training Institute.

Sandy specializes in working with chronic pain, complex trauma, and depression and anxiety. "In my 20 years of clinical experience, I have come to view the line between physical and emotional pain as less and less distinct. Sensation (cognition is a sensation) is energy and when we block or resist the flow of that energy, suffering arises. Suffering is pain times resistance. Pain can be our greatest teacher. The mushroom has an incredible ability to help us open to the lesson."

Sandy's primary focus is safety.  "Our ability to let go and open to the deepest levels depends on our sense of security. Am I safe here? My sacred commitment is to hold space in the most respectful and ethical way possible so that you can have the freedom to let go and fully engage with the experience. The mushroom is the guide."

Before he became a therapist, Sandy worked in a recording studio and played jazz guitar semi-professionally. He enjoys sailing, skiing, being outdoors, meditation, playing music, and spending time with his family.
